Within the Ministry of the Interior, there is a body known as the Secretariat of State for Security, and within this Secretariat, among other departments, is the Directorate-General for Coordination and Studies.
Among other functions, the Directorate-General for Coordination and Studies is responsible for:

Developing, implementing, and managing the National Crime Statistics, integrating all data from the State Security Forces and Corps, the regional police forces, and the local police forces.

Periodically preparing statistical reports on the situation and trends of criminality.
To this end, the Crime Statistics System (SEC) is integrated within the Statistical System and Victim Support Area, and it carries out the necessary tasks to fulfill the statistical functions of the Directorate-General for Coordination and Studies.
The implementation and updating of the Crime Statistics Portal is one of the tasks entrusted to the Crime Statistics System (SEC).
